Cold, earache, sore throat: these home remedies will help

Doctors who use naturopathy in addition to the usual treatment methods rely on empirical medicine. For them, home remedies are a wealth of knowledge that has been passed on over decades, which sometimes lacks scientific evidence – and yet often helps.

There is little data on whether home remedies work. Critics of folk medicine complain that many of the studies on naturopathy do not meet the criteria of scientific work: sometimes there is no control group, sometimes the number of study participants is negligible. They blame the placebo effect for the effect of herbal teas and compresses. The mere expectation that they will help improve the symptoms of an illness. Which is actually not bad news. We think these seven home remedies are worth a try.
