A drunk cyclist collided with a four-year-old boy in Upper Franconia and injured his head. According to witness statements, the 35-year-old is said to have cycled very quickly on a pedestrian path and hit the boy, the police said on Tuesday. The cyclist could not avoid the child in time, who had been walking with his family on Monday afternoon. The four-year-old hit his head against the suspension fork of the mountain bike and suffered a laceration. He had to be treated in the emergency room. An alcohol test showed 1.88 per mille in the cyclist, said the police. He was uninjured in the accident.
