Climbing and bouldering in Munich: Where climbing without a rope is possible everywhere – Munich

If you want to practice one of man’s most ancient forms of transportation, namely climbing, you don’t have to climb trees or drive into the mountains these days. Instead, on the lively Häberlstrasse near Goetheplatz, you go through a driveway and into a backyard in front of an impressive building. At the entrance there is an old-fashioned sign with the inscription: “Men’s Gymnastics Association Munich, founded in 1879”. The city’s largest recreational sports club has almost a dozen sports halls and fitness rooms here – including a stage on which theater was once performed and later boxing was held. Today it is twelve meters high and there are hundreds of colorful handles all around the walls.
