First activists brought out of tree houses

Police anticipate resistance

According to them, several dozen activists are on site – about 25 of them have holed up in tree houses. In addition, Greens members of the Bundestag and parliamentary representatives are on site. They want to see if everything is going proportionately.
Police with a large contingent and heavy equipment in action
According to their own statements, the police are on duty with around 1,000 officers from several federal states. Dozens of emergency vehicles had already arrived on the site on Tuesday, including heavy equipment such as wheel loaders and barriers. According to a spokesman, the police do not expect the activists to vacate the camp voluntarily. Trenches were dug to prevent the emergency services from accessing the area, and barricades were set up. “Barbed wire was drawn directly in the forest, which is intended to make it more difficult for the emergency services to get in,” said the police spokesman. According to information from Tuesday evening, the operation could last about five days. The road between Ottendorf-Okrilla and Würschnitz is expected to remain closed for the duration of the operation.
