Minister of State for Culture Claudia Roth is threatening to withdraw funding from Documenta. The SZ reported on Thursday that a member of the Kassel art show’s search committee signed an anti-Semitic BDS declaration. When asked, Claudia Roth said: “The federal government will only be financially involved in the next Documenta if there is a common plan and visible reform steps towards clear responsibilities, a real opportunity for the federal government to participate and standards to prevent anti-Semitism Discrimination exists. I don’t see any basis has been reached here yet.”
