As a child, Claudia Neumann often watched football on television and then replayed the games in the garden with her two brothers. In the late 1970s, centre-forward Klaus Fischer was a frequent feature, a stable attacker who mastered the art of the overhead kick like no other in Germany. Claudia Neumann admired it and practiced overhead kicks outside. Most of the time it went wrong, sometimes it worked, the overhead kick is a demanding feat. But once she later even managed to do one during an editorial kick with colleagues from ZDF.
