STORY: After renewed clashes on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, hundreds of people took to the streets in Gaza City on Wednesday. Earlier, for the second night in a row, members of the Israeli police and Palestinians clashed. The officials are said to have tried to get them from the al-Aqsa mosque late on Wednesday, eyewitnesses reported. The police used stun grenades and rubber bullets. Jordanian officials accused the security forces of entering before the end of the prayers. A police statement said dozens of youths had attempted to entrench themselves in the mosque with stones and firecrackers. The Palestinian Red Crescent reported six wounded. Similar clashes had occurred at the same location less than 24 hours earlier. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said extremists had entrenched themselves there with weapons, stones and firecrackers. His country remains committed to religious freedom and the Temple Mount Accords.
