Thousands have fled the Russian border area, and the city of Schebekino continues to be shelled. The fighting is making itself felt in Russia, but little is heard from the Kremlin.
The recordings begin like a promotional video, Best of Schebekino. You see Victory Square with flower beds, the Palace of Culture with its columns, a camera flight over the river, pure idyll, and then: artillery fire, columns of black smoke, destroyed buildings. The long roof of a five-story apartment building is on fire.
