Christopher Clark at “Maischberger” – Media

Sandra Maischberger was quite right when she introduced the last guest on her Wednesday night show as “Germany’s most popular historian”, even with a noble title: Sir Christopher Clark. In this role, the British, Australian-born historian, Prussian historian and analyst of the path to the First World War finally succeeded the great writer Golo Mann (popular around 1970). Or, looking even further back, historical epic writers like Heinrich von Treitschke or Theodor Mommsen, highly respected and read hundreds of thousands of times before 1914. Clark, intimately familiar with German culture, will appreciate such comparisons.
