She is a recognized professor and he is a well-known author. She is Italian, he was born in France. They complement each other perfectly. The only time there’s trouble is when they eat pizza. As long as they have known each other, he has ordered a pizza Fiorentina, with spinach and egg, never any other.
“For God’s sake,” she says, “just jump over your shadow for once and order a pizza Napoli, it won’t kill you. Or a funghi or a gorgonzola or, for me, a margherita. It doesn’t have to be a calzone. “
