Christina Applegate has MS. Now she celebrated her 50th birthday and spoke to her fans.

US actress Christina Applegate (50) made it public in August 2021 that she had multiple sclerosis (MS). Now the Emmy Prize winner not only celebrated Thanksgiving, but also her 50th birthday. On her special day the actress reported via Twitter to speak to their fans. “Yes. I turned 50 today. And I have MS. It was a tough time,” said the TV star.

“I send so much love to all of you on this day,” continued Applegate. “Many are suffering today and I think of you. May we find the strength to lift our heads. Mine is currently on my pillow. But I’m trying.” There are many happy birthday wishes to be read in the comments. Numerous fans left loving words and encouraged the actress.

“It was a strange journey”

In August she spoke too on the short message service about her illness: “I was diagnosed with MS a few months ago. It’s been a strange journey. But I’ve had so much support from people I know who also have the disease. It’s been a tough road. But how we all know the path goes on and on. Unless some asshole blocks it. “

MS is not her first shock diagnosis: In 2008, the now 50-year-old was diagnosed with breast cancer at a very early stage. Applegate then decided to have a bilateral prophylactic mastectomy. In 2017, she also had her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed as a precaution.

Applegate celebrated her breakthrough as Kelly “Dull Cheek” Bundy in the hit sitcom “A Terrible Nice Family” (1987-1997). Since 2019 she can be seen in the Netflix series “Dead To Me”. The production of the third season has meanwhile been postponed.

Christina Applegate is married to the Dutch musician Martyn LeNoble (52) for the second time. Their daughter was born in 2011.
