Is Will Smith’s apology to Chris Rock genuine? No, his brother Kenny Rock is sure.
Much has been said and written about Will Smith’s (53) attack on Chris Rock (57) at the Oscars. So also about Smith’s apology to the comedian, which the star shared via Instagram a short time later. Rock himself has not yet said whether he will accept it. But now a person who is particularly close to the injured party has found clear words about it. His younger brother Kenny Rock (42) feels the expression of remorse is hypocritical and at least he cannot accept it like the actor now the “Los Angeles Times” said.
“No, I don’t accept it because I don’t think it’s honest,” Kenny Rock is quoted as saying. “Rather, I think his press secretary and staff advised him to do it.” He would probably think differently if Smith had apologized to his brother on the night of the Oscars and during his acceptance speech. “But he didn’t do that. Which shows me that it’s for a different reason now.”
Appeal and reproach to the Oscar Academy
Having to watch the attack on his brother over and over again on social networks “eats” him, because: “My brother posed no danger to me [Smith] Kenny Rock is therefore all the more demanding a clear edge from the Oscar Academy. The Oscar for Smith’s part in “King Richard” should be taken from him again, and the actor should not be invited to any further Oscar ceremonies.
