With grandma the child is an angel, with the neighbors a real model offspring. And with the parents of best friends anyway the dearest creature in the world. Only with mom, of course there’s moaning, screaming and bullying like hell. At first it feels like you’re doing everything wrong in your upbringing, doesn’t it? At the same time, you can perhaps also hear your partner say that you are not strict enough and allow yourself to be danced on. Ha, because of! Because all this is – probably – nonsense. The Focus quotes Nicola Schmidt, the author of “Species – The other book for young children”, who says: This behavior even stands for the opposite – it is a real compliment.
My child complains – and I should be happy?
Well, nobody said anything about being happy, but maybe less angry about it. Because the background for the nagging, at least when it comes to Nicola Schmidt (more precisely after her daughter), is quite plausible. The author simply asked her five-year-old offspring directly why she was getting so much complaining. The answer:
Sometimes I just feel like it. And where else am I supposed to do that when I feel like it? That’s only possible with mom!
Makes sense right?
Yes, so who, if not a child himself, could have a better answer to the question? And we have to admit: even if this wasn’t a highly scientific empirical study, it sounds pretty plausible. In any case, one thing is beyond question: In a safe, loving environment, you can let go, you don’t have to pretend, you can let your feelings run free. In any case, we think the answer of the little ones is more than terrific and we hope that it will give all the mothers out there a little courage! Don’t be discouraged: you’re doing a great job!
