61-year-old is said to have kidnapped and abused girls

A driver is said to have pulled a student into his car in the morning and driven away on dirt roads. He fled, sometimes at very high speed. Eventually, police officers managed to stop the car.
A 61-year-old is said to have attacked a ten-year-old on the way to school in Edenkoben, Palatinate Car hijacked and sexually abused. After a high-speed chase and several accidents, police officers arrested him. He was immediately taken into custody, as the Landau public prosecutor’s office and the Rhine-Palatinate police headquarters announced.
According to initial investigations, the 61-year-old is said to have pulled the student into his car that morning and drove away along dirt roads. Half an hour later, a witness reported to the police that the driver was behaving “unusually”. When the student was reported missing by her father less than an hour later because she had not shown up for class, the police were looking for her.
“Gross traffic violation and reckless”
About half an hour later, officers spotted the driver on a country road and pursued him. According to the investigative authorities, the 61-year-old behaved “grossly in violation of traffic regulations and was reckless” and sometimes fled at very high speed. According to current information, he caused three traffic accidents. According to initial findings, there were no injuries. Police officers managed to stop the car on a federal highway.
According to the information, they discovered the girl in the car and took her into custody. “The suspect had to be taken out of the car using direct force and tied up. He was injured in the process,” it said. When he was brought before the investigating judge at the Landau district court, the man confessed that he had “taken possession of the girl.” He did not provide any further details. According to the police, the 61-year-old is said to be a sex offender who has already appeared.
