Since the scandalous interview with talk legend Oprah Winfrey (69) two years ago, Prince Harry (38) and Duchess Meghan (41) have missed almost no opportunity to publicly talk about the British royal family.
Racism, bullying, fights, intrigues and lies – the Sussexes’ list of accusations is getting longer and longer, while their relationship with the royals threatens to break up more and more. Above all, between Harry and Prince William (40).
British TV presenter Lizzie Cundy (54) is also concerned about the development of Harry and Meghan. She met Markle at a party in London in 2013 and became her friend.
“She was a wild girl back then, taking selfies and chatting about her ex-boyfriends. Just what women do. We had a lot of fun together, but I noticed even then that she was a very ambitious person,” says Cundy in the BILD interview.
The TV woman continued: “Even then, Meghan really wanted to move to London and work here. She loved London – the nightlife, the people, everything. She was also keen to have a British boyfriend.”
Just three years later, in July 2016, Meghan’s wish came true. She met Prince Harry on a blind date and fell head over heels in love with the coveted single prince. Your dream of living in London? It’s long been a thing of the past.
The ducal couple now lives in seclusion in a luxury villa in Montecito, California. Hard to understand for Lizzie Cundy, as she clarifies to BILD: “I’m shocked to see how Meghan not only deals with the royals, but also with her own family, especially her father. It’s a shame considering many had hopes she would be the next Lady Di.”
Meghan won’t attend Charles’ coronation because…
The latest example of how broken the relationship between the Sussexes and the Windsors is: Harry will be without his Meghan for the coronation of King Charles III on May 6th. (74) appear in London’s Westminster Abbey.
Meghan officially justified her cancellation with son Archie’s fourth birthday. An indictment, says Lizzie Cundy: “I think she knew she would have been booed in London. That would have been the worst thing ever for her! She was aware that she would not have been able to cope with the negative reaction from the British press and population. She’s done too much damage. The royals are so popular in England and have a lot of support in the country. Meghan has crossed the line too many times and allowed herself too many faux pas. And she wouldn’t have been able to look the royals in the eye after all the lies either. I just find it embarrassing.”
Lizzie continued: “It’s also sad for Archie and Lilibet to miss an event of the century like their grandfather’s coronation. One day they will surely ask themselves: Why weren’t we there? It is incomprehensible to me that Meghan insists that her children bear the titles of prince and princess, but then does not appear at the coronation. I think Charles is very, very sad about this. And that despite the fact that King Charles shook her hand so often.”
How Meghan wants to draw attention to herself
And that’s not all! Lizzie even assumes that Meghan will do everything to be the center of attention on Coronation Day: “I’m sure that of course she will try to steal the show from Charles for the coronation. She’s been making headlines in the days leading up to the event and I’d bet she’s sharing a photo of the little one with his birthday cake for Archie’s birthday. What Meghan wants, Meghan gets. And what Meghan wants is attention!”
Could her decision to stay away from the coronation change anything about her marriage to Harry? Lizzie Cundy denies this to BILD: “Harry loves Meghan from the bottom of his heart. He reads her every wish from her lips. I would have wished for him that she would stand by his side at the coronation. But I think she just couldn’t jump over her shadow for PR reasons.”
Lizzie Cundy is certain: “May 6th will be one of the most important days in our history. Let’s forget Harry and Meghan. The day isn’t about them, it’s about celebrating our King.”
