Charlene of Monaco’s recovery will take “several weeks”

Back in Monaco in early November, after several months spent in South Africa where she had to undergo surgery, Princess Charlene of Monaco, 43, is still isolated from her family and the public. This Thursday, the Prince’s Palace announces that she “unfortunately will not be able to attend the festivities of Sainte Dévote”, her convalescence still having to continue “several weeks”.

On Wednesday, the burning of the boat of the patron saint of Monaco, always celebrated on January 26 and 27, indeed took place in her absence. Prince Albert II was accompanied by his sister, Princess Caroline of Hanover, and the children he had with the former swimming champion. Last year, Charlene of Monaco made her very last public appearance there on the Rock.

His recovery continues “in a very encouraging way”

His state of health did not allow him to be there this year, “his recovery as well as the follow-up of his dental care should still take several weeks”, thus specified the prince’s palace. But “the convalescence of HSH Princess Charlene”, operated after a serious infection of the ear, nose and throat, “is currently continuing in a satisfactory and very encouraging way”, also reassures the Principality.

Very discreet about the place where Charlene of Monaco is currently resting, “the princely couple asks that their privacy and that of their children continue to be respected”, concludes a press release from the prince’s palace.

On November 23, a source close to the Palace told AFP that the princess had been admitted “to a specialized establishment following great fatigue linked to her weakness”, confirming the information given by Prince Albert to the magazine People.
