During the Corona period, they are said to have sold masses of masks without proper labeling, which also did not meet the standards. Two men and a woman have now been charged with this.

Two men and a woman will soon have to answer in court. The Schwerin public prosecutor’s office has brought charges of gang and commercial fraud in 116 cases against a 55-year-old from Dresden, a 55-year-old from Brandenburg and a 35-year-old from Kiel.

They are said to have imported protective equipment and medical products such as masks, protective suits and glasses in significant quantities from Vietnam and Turkey between March 2020 and December 2022. It was clear to them that the goods did not comply with EU regulations because they had no or only incorrect CE markings. Experts examined the confiscated masks for the public prosecutor’s office and unanimously came to the conclusion that the products did not provide the required filter performance.

The public prosecutor also accuses the trio of advertising their products in a newspaper. The impression was illegally created that the masks can render bacterial and viral pathogens such as the coronavirus harmless. Several media outlets had previously reported.
