Charcoal after each event, maintenance workers rewarded

They are on a mission to clean up the city. Suffice to say that the agents of the cleanliness service of Rennes have not been idle in recent weeks. After each demonstration against the pension reform, whether in the middle of the night or in the early morning, they were on the bridge to try to restore the city center, literally disfigured by four months of damage. Between the burnt bins, the broken windows or the ransacked street furniture, their task was colossal as the degradations were numerous and the violent clashes in the Breton capital.

To reward these agents for their commitment in the field and for the extra work caused by these events, the Rennes municipality has just granted them an exceptional bonus of 187 euros gross which will be paid to them with their pay for the month of May.

“This financial compensation is a manifestation of recognition for the exemplary work carried out by the agents as well as a welcome boost in the context of inflation which is permanently affecting low-income households”, welcomed in a press release the elected opposition Carole Gandon (Reveal Rennes).
