The ARD exchanges its presenters thoroughly: As expected, Caren Miosga succeeds Anne Will on Sunday evening.

The major program reform at ARD continues to take shape. As the public broadcaster announced on Friday, Caren Miosga (54) will give up the moderation of “Tagesthemen” after sixteen years in the coming year in order to take over the political talk on Sunday evening from Anne Will (57). This is the second time that she has followed her colleague directly – in 2007 she followed Will as moderator of the “Daily Topics”.

Jessy Wellmer takes over “Daily Topics”, Lea Wagner “Sportschau”

The gap that Miosga leaves in the “daily topics” is filled by the current “Sportschau” presenter Jessy Wellmer (43). Lea Wagner (28), who has already made a name for herself as a sports presenter for SWR and in the ARD ski jumping programs and was in action at the World Cup in Qatar, will take on her role in the sports program.

Caren Miosga, the “right woman in the right place”

NDR Director General Joachim Knuth (64) believes that Caren Miosga, Anne Will’s successor, is “the right woman in the right place” and is looking forward to “leading the most successful political talk show on German television with new impulses into the future together with her”. .

More broadcast dates for Maischberger

In addition to the announced personnel changes, the broadcaster also announced further strategic changes for the coming year. Sandra Maischberger’s (56) round of talks, which is currently running twice a week, should be “significantly strengthened” by more broadcast dates. The “Hart aber fair” moderator Louis Klamroth (33), who was recently criticized for a Rammstein theme evening, should in future take more care to make his program a format “that also younger audiences in the ARD media center for information literacy the ARD and the culture of political debate in Germany wins.”
