Ajax Amsterdam striker Sebastien Haller set a record for Cristiano Ronaldo (36) in the last group game in the Champions League.
Haller, who moved from West Ham to the Dutch for 22.5 million euros in January 2021, scored 1-0 for Ajax in the eighth minute, making him only the second player in the history of the competition to make it into all six after Ronaldo Scored at least one goal in group matches.
Champions League: Haller in top scorer list before Lewandowski
The opening goal was Haller’s tenth goal in the current competition. He leads the scorer list ahead of Robert Lewandowski (9 goals).
Haller made his breakthrough in the Bundesliga at Eintracht Frankfurt. He scored 33 goals for Hessen between 2017 and 2019 before being sold to West Ham for 50 million euros.
