In a new documentary, Céline Dion wants to shed light on Stiff Person Syndrome. Now the release date of the film has been set.

Céline Dion (56) has been battling the so-called stiff person syndrome for some time. A new documentary about the global star will soon focus on the singer’s life with the rare disease, which causes muscle hardening and often cramps. As the Dions team and Prime Video have now apparently announced about a scene from the documentary “I Am: Celine Dion”, the whole thing will be shown on the streaming service from June 25th.

Celine Dion’s battle “with a life-changing illness”

In one Instagram post is hinted atthat the documentary is likely to convey very moving impressions. The film provides a “genuine and honest behind-the-scenes look at the legendary superstar’s battle with a life-changing illness.” It is a “love letter to her fans” that also shows “the indestructibility of the human spirit”.

Work on the project became known at the end of January. “The last few years have been such a big challenge for me,” Dion explained in a statement. On her journey she discovered her illness and learned to live with it without letting the illness control her. While she was still on her way back to the stage, Dion realized “how much I missed being able to see my fans. During this absence, I decided to document this part of my life and try to raise awareness for “To bring awareness to this little-known disease to help others who share this diagnosis.”

Dion made the illness public in 2022 and largely withdrew from the public eye. After shows on her “Courage World Tour” were initially postponed, she canceled the tour completely in May 2023. In March 2024 she confirmed in an Instagram post, determined to “one day be back on stage and live as normal a life as possible.” She previously caused a surprise with a public appearance at the Grammys in February.
