The last few years have been very challenging for Céline Dion. A documentary about the singer and her illness will be released soon.

The Canadian singer Céline Dion (55) has not been able to perform for some time due to a serious illness. The international star suffers from so-called stiff person syndrome. A new documentary about the singer will focus primarily on this rare disease, which causes muscle hardening and often cramps.

“Get ready! ‘I Am: Celine,’ a documentary from Oscar nominee Irene Taylor, is being released worldwide on Prime Video,” Dion himself announces on Instagram. The singer also explains that the documentary is intended to provide information about her illness. It is not yet known when exactly the film will be shown on Amazon’s streaming service.

“The last few years have been such a big challenge for me,” Dion continues. She went on a journey during which she discovered her illness and learned to live with it and deal with it, but not to let the illness control her. While she was still on her way back to the stage, Dion realized “how much I missed being able to see my fans. During this absence, I decided to document this part of my life and try to raise awareness for “To bring awareness to this little-known disease to help others who share this diagnosis.”

On Dion’s homepage will be the documentary described as an “intimate exploration” that viewers should see. It is a “snapshot of a crucial time in the life and career” of the global star. In the documentary, which took more than a year to film, Dion will not only be seen in her private life, but also in the recording studio. “I Am: Celine Dion” is “an emotional, energetic and poetic love letter to music”.

At the end of 2022, Dion announced her illness and largely withdrew from the public. After initially simply postponing planned shows on her “Courage World Tour,” she canceled the tour completely in May 2023.
