Ceferin lights (again) the dissident project, “it’s cynicism against morality”

The war of words continues between Aleksander Ceferin, boss of UEFA, and the Super League, destroyer of the Champions League. The Slovenian once again ignited the dissident project during the UEFA congress being held in Lisbon. With one or two quality punchlines in the lot.

“I will not dwell on the disastrous project carried by three club leaders (Real, Barça and Juve), declared Ceferin. However those who are in favor of this project claim that they want to save football. Luckily shame never killed anyone. As in the fable, it’s the wolf who disguises himself as a grandmother to better devour you. It is cynicism against morality”.

The Super League has resurfaced

In recent months, Super League promoters have resurfaced, notably through the A 22 firm, as we recently explained in an article. Without a concrete format for their new competition, but with around fifty allies, whose names remain unknown. The new version of the Champions League will see the light of day in 2024.
