There have been rumors for some time, and now the separation has been decided: Pal Dardai’s time as coach at Hertha BSC will reportedly end in the summer. There is already speculation about the successor.

According to consistent media reports, Pal Dardai will no longer be a coach at second division soccer team Hertha BSC next season. This is what “Bild”, “RBB” and “Kicker” report. Managing director Thomas Herrich informed the 48-year-old of the decision last week. This means that this Saturday’s game against 1. FC Kaiserslautern (1 p.m. / Sky) would be the Hungarian’s last home game. The club has not yet commented on this.

Dardai’s contract with the relegated Bundesliga team expires at the end of this season. The season so far has been rather disappointing for the current ninth-place team under his leadership. Dardai came to Hertha as a player in 1997, and in 2012 he moved to the youth team as a coach. He took over the professional team for the first time in 2015 and became head coach there for the third time in his career in April 2023.

According to the “Bild” report, the Berliners are already looking for a successor. Promising candidates should therefore be the current Nuremberg coach Cristian Fiél and the former Augsburg coach Enrico Maaßen.
