Did you miss the news from the start of the morning? We have concocted a recap to help you see more clearly.

Everything accelerated Thursday night. After intense diplomatic negotiations, the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas came into effect Friday morning in the Gaza Strip to end more than ten days of clashes, their deadliest confrontation in years. As soon as the truce took effect, thousands of Palestinians celebrated the event in the streets of central Gaza City. “We won,” a fighter from the al-Qassam brigade, the armed wing of Hamas, told AFP on the spot.

And demonstrations of joy have also multiplied in towns in the occupied West Bank, as the IDF made no mention of any new rocket scares. This agreement was favored by Egypt, a regional power maintaining both relations with Israel and Hamas, a movement considered “terrorist” by the Jewish state, the European Union and the United States.

Snap, the parent company of Snapchat, repeats it regularly: it is not a messaging company but a “ companion camera “. She proved it again Thursday, by unveiling her first real connected glasses, to enjoy augmented reality directly in her field of vision, and more simply on the small screen of a smartphone. Facebook and Apple, who have big ambitions in this niche, have been warned. Still, with a limited field of vision and only thirty minutes of autonomy, it seems to be above all on a beta product. Snap does not intend to market them immediately: the glasses are reserved for artists and developers via a program for creators.

San Marino, Greece, Moldova, Iceland, Serbia, Portugal, Albania, Bulgaria, Finland and Switzerland qualified on Thursday evening for the Eurovision 2021 final which will be broadcast on Saturday evening from 9 p.m. on France 2 [et à suivre également en direct sur 20 Minutes]. After the second semi-final this Thursday evening, all the performances of the 39 countries competing for Eurovision 2021 are therefore online on
the contest’s YouTube channel. Those who watched the second semi-final got a one-minute preview of the performance Barbara Pravi, who represents France, shot during Wednesday’s dress rehearsal. The one who will sing her title here connects rehearsals and interviews at a steady pace. On Tuesday, the songwriter and performer gave some time to our special correspondent in Rotterdam, Fabien Randanne. Here are some of his answers gleaned during the interview visible in full here.
