Cathy Hummels mugged in Thailand

White sand, palm trees, massages: This is what Thailand is known for. For Cathy Hummels, however, a stay in the holiday paradise ended with a shock. According to a report, the presenter was brutally attacked.

For the TV format “Battle of the reality stars” has Cathy Hummels spent three weeks in Thailand. The presenter posted snapshots from the holiday paradise on Instagram every day: sometimes in a flowery summer dress, sometimes in a bikini with a coconut in her hand.

In the pictures, the 34-year-old is clearly enjoying life. But a few days after leaving Thailand, the influencer hinted that not everything was sunny in the tropical paradise. On Instagram on Tuesday, she posted a photo of herself in a bikini and wrote: “It’s nice when the world is still okay …” What’s going on? Her fans have been asking in the comments ever since.

A “picture” report could now give the solution. Accordingly, the Thailand idyll for Cathy had turned into a nightmare shortly before her departure. According to her own statement, she was brutally attacked during her last walk on the beach.

The TV presenter is quoted by “Bild”: “I wanted to say goodbye to this idyllic place with a walk on the beach. I will certainly never forget this moment.” She continues: “I got a hit on the head from behind. The perpetrator hit me several times. At some point I realized this was a matter of life and death and I started fighting back.”

Cathy then yelled at the man to let her live. He grabbed her cell phone and ran away. “I gathered all my strength and ran back to the hotel. The whole time I only thought about my little son Ludwig,” says Cathy.

According to the report, her TV crew called the police upon her return. Cathy described the perpetrator to the officers and filed a complaint. She then flew to Dubai that same evening, where she wanted to relax and spend time with her son.

The team of “RTL ZWEI” was shocked by the incident, but there was relief that she was doing well given the circumstances. “Our teams were received incredibly warmly and hospitably over the weeks in Thailand,” said a spokesman in the “image” report cited.
