“Cash for Rares”: When Horst Lichter hears the desired price, he laughs out loud

The married couple Cordula and Wolfram Grzondziel have valuable jewelry with them. A necklace with a pendant, a ring set with diamonds and an earring lie on the expert table at “Bares für Rares”. It is an heirloom from her family, explains Cordula Grzondziel. Originally there were two earrings, one of which her mother had made into a ring. The Berliner explains that she only wore the jewelry once: to her wedding.

According to Heide Rezepa-Zabel, this is a set that was not designed together, but fits well together. All three pieces are made of yellow gold and decorated with half-cut diamonds. There is a cultured pearl in the middle. The expert dates the necklace to the 1930s and the rings to the 1910s to 1920s.

“Cash for Rares”: Horst Lichter can hardly believe it

When Lichter finds out the couple’s desired price, he laughs out loud: 7,000 euros Cordula Grzondziel as a wish. The moderator immediately apologizes and changes his reaction to “Wow.” But Rezepa-Zabel agrees with the sellers: she estimates the value at 7,000 to 7,500 euros. Horst Lichter no longer understands the world: “Oh, stop it!” he shouts, and admits: “You look at me extremely surprised.”

The dealers seem to rate the jewelry as highly as the expert. Wolfgang Pauritsch starts the bidding round with 3000 euros. Elke Velten-Tönnies and Fabian Kahl are also bidding, and so the price rises to 5,000 euros. But that’s what they want Grzondziels do not give up their jewelry.

When Velten-Tönnies inquired about the sellers’ desired price, she increased her bid to 6,000 euros. The couple are happy with this – the deal is sealed.
