Sarah Schreiber actually bought a candlestick at “Bares für Rares” for 700. But then the dealer outdid herself. Afterwards she explained why.

The married couple John and Claus Staibano from Reutlingen recently moved from 300 to 80 square meters. For this reason, you have to part with some cherished items and have a beautiful Fairy Lamp candlestick with you.Cash for Rares”.

Expert Sven Deutschmanek demonstrates how the beautiful light source works: candles were placed in bowls filled with water. These glass bowls are also the reason why these candlesticks are called a “Fairy Lamp”: the logo of the manufacturer S. Clarke from England was a fairy with a magic wand, which is engraved on the bottom of the glass. It is an authentic, old piece that was created around 1900, says Deutschmanek.

Horst Lichter is enthusiastic: “Cool number,” comments the moderator. The Staibanos would like 800 to 1000 euros for their old piece. The expert almost agrees: He estimates the value at 800 to 900 euros.

Susanne Steiger starts with 400 euros, and in a duel with Jos van Katwijk she initially pushes the price up to 600 euros. Then Sarah Schreiber enters the race and offers 650 euros. However, the couple don’t want to sell for that. So Schreiber increases it to 700. While John and Claus Staibano are thinking, the dealer has an inspiration and, to everyone’s amazement, adds another 100 euros. “An idea just came to me,” she explains. The sellers are happy and take action.

Of course the other dealers want to know what the 800 euro idea is about. A friend of hers will soon be setting up her own wedding agency, reveals Schreiber. “You could also rent something like that out.”
