Carolin Kebekus has announced a new project. In a joint podcast with her brother David, she reviews her life. It starts on July 14th.

“It’s a super exciting journey, which is of course also very intimate,” said Carolin Kebekus of the German Press Agency in Cologne. The comedian will review her life in a joint podcast with her brother. “I usually never say anything about my private life, but that’s where it gets very private.” In the Audible Original podcast, which premieres July 14, the 41-year-old and her four-year-old brother describe growing up together. Each of the 36 episodes illuminates a year together.

“My brother had the idea,” said Kebekus. “It was a time when we heard more and more from others: ‘How crazy that you get along so well as siblings.’ That’s when we realized: Okay, apparently it’s a special relationship. And then we are too both become comedians. You can ask yourself: How did that actually come about?”

Carolin Kebekus: “Every episode has a main theme”

The podcast begins in David’s year of birth, 1984. “Each episode has an overarching theme, something like relationships, puberty or school. It’s really a privilege to be able to talk about life in this way again. It’s also crazy how different people approach things remind.”

She was touched by the effect her first boyfriend had on David. “At some point he gave him tutoring and said: ‘Look, it’s really cool when you know that.’ And that was the moment for David when he realized: ‘Oh, so the school doesn’t mean me any harm?'”
