Caro Kelley: “It gives me the feeling of being part of the community” – Munich

In the summer while filming Sound of Munich Now Festival, Caro Kelley said how difficult it was to find a place in the German music scene as a native American. At least now she has succeeded: The pop singer was nominated in five categories for the German Rock and Pop Award this year, including the main category German Singer-Songwriter Award. “I really believe in making art for art’s sake,” says Caro. “But it still feels good when someone else likes the thing that you’ve put so much effort, time, money and creativity into.” The awards ceremony will take place in Siegen on December 17th, in 127 different genres to reflect today’s musical diversity. Even more than the certificate, Caro is looking forward to meeting other musicians from all over Germany. “It makes me feel like part of the community.”
