Capital increase – Siemens Energy collects – economy

The Munich energy technology group Siemens Energy has collected 1.26 billion euros in fresh capital from major investors despite the worldwide slide in prices on the stock exchanges. The capital increase by ten percent was the final building block for refinancing the complete takeover of the ailing wind power subsidiary Siemens Gamesa, which cost a good four billion euros. “We are pleased that institutional investors, including BNP Paribas Energy Transition Fund, are convinced of our strategy to play a leading role in the energy transition,” said CFO Maria Ferraro. The energy transition fund of the major French bank BNP is a new shareholder at Siemens Energy.
