Candidate for the head of the party, Pradié wants a “unique dress code” at school

Aurélien Pradié has his idea on how to “restore secularism and equality from the start between the children of the Republic”. The deputy, candidate for the presidency of the Republicans (LR), pleads in the Sunday newspaper for the return of the “unique dress code” to school.

“To protect our school from the noise of the world, I propose that all children wear the same outfit in the school of the Republic, schools, colleges and high schools,” said the deputy of Lot. However, he claims to have “no nostalgia for the blouses of yesteryear”.

“The situation of our school is catastrophic”

“Unique clothing will help stop all religious, Islamist, community and even political incursions that are too neglected. In college or high school, certain outfits are all political slogans that have no place there, ”he argues. Judging that “the situation of our school is catastrophic”, the deputy also announces that he will send “this week a national letter” to teachers and parents.

The one who appears to be an outsider for the head of LR, facing Eric Ciotti and Bruno Retailleau, proposes in particular to abandon the objective of 80% success in the baccalaureate and rolls out a series of measures, including the establishment of ” merit scholarships” in “each college and high school”. “A child will no longer have to go to sixth grade if he does not master the fundamental knowledge, which will have to be certified by an exam”. He also suggests that “when there are at least three children with disabilities in a class, there are two teachers, one of whom is a specialist, in support of the accompanying persons”.

Activists will vote on December 3 and 4

The right “must set out to conquer our teachers”, further pleads Aurélien Pradié, judging that they “are confronted every day with what we denounce: the collapse of authority and the rise of communitarianism”. “I would like us to recreate a ‘Normal School of the Republic’, which will train all teachers, issue certification to middle and high school teachers and once again provide continuing education”.

Aurélien Pradié, like Eric Ciotti and Bruno Retailleau, will be heard by the LR “parliament” on November 26, before a vote by activists on December 3 and 4.
