Just this scene behind the stage: Christl Sittenauer recently appeared at the Bavarian Culture Prize award ceremony. Also in action: Markus Blume, Bavaria’s State Minister for Science and Art. After his greeting, he came backstage, saw Sittenauer, winner of the Franconian Cabaret Prize and a celebrated member of the Laughing and Shooting Society for years, and said to her: ‘Ah great, someone from the technology department. Can you just unwire me?’ Of course Sittenauer could, it’s not rocket science. But she was a little surprised: “I didn’t look so inconspicuous, I was wearing a pink, glittery skirt, so not exactly functional clothes. But at least, as a woman, he thought I could have a technician job.” Embarrassing, embarrassing for the Minister of State, nice for the artist that despite all the odds she didn’t lose her sense of humor.
