BVB: Haaland trading card auctioned for record sum

The hype surrounding Erling Haaland keeps reaching new heights. Now a Norwegian trading card has been auctioned off for a mega sum.
A digital trading card from Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland has been auctioned for 609,000 euros.
This is a unique NFT of the fantasy football platform Sorare, a football manager based on real player performances. The Haaland NFT card is said to be based on the real trading cards and contains the most important player data such as number, age, position and nationality.
Haaland smashes Ronaldo’s record
Sorare is a fast-growing company, currently valued at more than £3billion – and it has become a key player in football’s growing NFT landscape.
The auction of the Haaland card also broke a new record. The old record of Cristiano Ronaldo, whose card had achieved a price of 245,000 euros last year, was clearly pulverized.
