According to the Federal Prosecutor’s office, two former Bundeswehr paratroopers wanted to set up and command a private war force. Your first target: Yemen.

The two former paratroopers, who were arrested on Wednesday morning for serious suspicions and then placed in custody, have not been with the Bundeswehr for more than a quarter of a century. And, according to the Defense Ministry, they have not done any reserve service since then. Nevertheless, the federal prosecutor’s office in Karlsruhe takes what the two ex-soldiers are supposed to have planned very seriously. The Karlsruhe prosecutors, who mainly intervene when terrorism and espionage are suspected, had the two men picked up by special forces from the Federal Police in Munich and in the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district.
