Bundesnetzagentur – Discount for LPG imports – Economy

The Federal Network Agency wants to promote the import of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Germany with a discount. In the interest of security of supply, the fees to be paid for feeding gas from an LNG terminal into the transmission system would be reduced by 40 percent. This was announced by the Federal Network Agency. This is intended to support the German government’s goal of building LNG terminals in the short term in order to reduce the import of pipeline gas from Russia. Floating systems on the German coast could go into operation by the end of this year. As the network operators SH Netz and Gasunie announced, the port of Brunsbüttel should also be connected to the German gas network by the end of 2022 in order to enable LNG feed-in.
