The billion-dollar poker game over the television rights to the Bundesliga has stopped for the time being. A lot is at stake, including the financial future of the clubs. The tone is rough, but there has to be an agreement.
German football is currently experiencing a bit of a boom. In the Champions League, two clubs are in the semi-finals, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, and Bayern Leverkusen is in the last four in the Europa League. The European Championships will take place in this country in the summer, and the national team has just played two good games. For the first time in eleven years, Bayern did not become champions in the Bundesliga. All of this is good for the attractiveness and therefore also for the ratings on television. So it would be a good moment to sell the television rights to the Bundesliga to the highest bidder and for a lot of money.
