Assist, goal, cramp: Kane’s intense league debut
Harry Kane convinced in his first Bundesliga game. For FC Bayern Munich he contributed an assist and a goal to make it 4-0 in Bremen. He gets praise from the coach and captain.
In the fourth minute, the English national team captain showed that he is not only an executor, but also a clever assist provider. Leroy Sané used his extension to sprint to the Werder goal and took the lead early on.
“I think our other attacking players will benefit a lot from him because now he’s not a striker who just slims down and executes, but is also one who sets the scene for the others, as we saw with Leroy.” said Bayern captain Joshua Kimmich. “In general, of course, he’s very good for our game because he’s a player who can both play and execute.”
Kane was struggling with cramps
Kane then made it clear that he can also do the latter with his goal to make it 2-0 (74th). His first day of work in the Bundesliga came to an end in the 84th minute. Shortly before, he had been struggling with cramps.
After the game, Kane, who cost more than 100 million euros, was exhausted but satisfied. “It was a good night, definitely a tough game,” said the 30-year-old on the DAZN streaming service. “I was a little nervous, excited. Very excited to start the new season with my new club. Of course there were a few butterflies (in my stomach).”
