A new date has been found for the canceled game between Mainz and Union. The DFL benefits from the fact that both clubs are already out of the cup.

The The Bundesliga relegation duel between FSV Mainz 05 and 1. FC Union Berlin will be rescheduled for February 7th.

The game in Mainz will be played in the early evening (6.30 p.m./DAZN), as the German Football League (DFL) announced. Last Friday, the start of the second half of the season could not take place as planned due to the winter weather conditions and the associated safety risks in the stadium.

The DFL also benefits from the fact that both clubs have already been eliminated from the DFB Cup. The cup quarter-finals between 1. FC Saarbrücken and Borussia Mönchengladbach are also on the program on February 7th. This game will kick off at 8:45 p.m. in the evening. Both Mainz and Union are in a relegation battle in the league.
