Borussia Dortmund manages a hard-fought away win at 1899 Hoffenheim. This brings the BVB table leader FC Bayern a significant step closer.
BVB won 3-2 (1-1) in the top game at TSG Hoffenheim and is only three points behind the leaders from Munich.
Star striker Erling Haaland (6th) and captain Marco Reus (58th) scored for Dortmund four days after the 2-1 draw in the round of 16 in the cup at second division FC St. Pauli. There was also an own goal by Hoffenheim’s David Raum (66′), and Donyell Malen shone with three assists. However, Bayern can increase the gap to BVB again to six points at Hertha BSC on Sunday.
Haaland takes the lead
After seven home games in a row without defeat, Hoffenheim suffered another bankruptcy at home. The anniversary goal from Andrej Kramaric (45’+1′) and the goal from Georginio Rutter (77′) didn’t change that.
In front of the 500 allowed spectators in Sinsheim, it was obvious to Dortmunders in the early stages that they were looking for compensation. After a strong combination, Malen hung up for Haaland, who only had to push in from a short distance. It was the Norwegian’s 16th goal of the season.

However, Reus marked the goal on the other side – again after preparatory work by Mal. Shortly thereafter, Haaland had to leave. The goalscorer was obviously plagued by groin problems. A little later, TSG full-back Raum scored in his own goal. Rutter made it exciting again.
