Borussia Dortmund’s midfield ace Jude Bellingham also sees something positive in BVB’s 3-3 draw at VfB Stuttgart on the 28th Bundesliga matchday.

“I think we needed a game like this,” said the 19-year-old in an interview with “Bundesliga.com” and also practiced self-criticism. He thinks “we were a bit arrogant,” Bellingham said. Dortmund had meanwhile led 2-0 and played in the majority for a long time.

BVB recovered well from the negative experience. Last weekend Dortmund won 4-0 against Eintracht Frankfurt and conquered the top of the table from FC Bayern Munich. With a win in the Revierderby this Friday (8.30 p.m. / DAZN) at VfL Bochum, Borussia wants to extend the lead.

Letsch: brave against “world selection”

Thomas Letsch from relegation candidate VfL Bochum goes into the 70th competitive derby against the new leaders Borussia Dortmund with a lot of respect but determination. “There will be a world selection on the field, filled with national players,” said Letsch: “But if we go in there with the attitude: the table leaders come from next door, we lose there anyway, then we don’t have a chance. That’s why we want to go all out clearly do our thing and we won’t hide.”

The Bochum fan friendship with Dortmund’s champion rival FC Bayern Munich does not play a role. “Fan friendship or not. It’s about collecting points so that we stay in the league,” said Letsch. The motivation at VfL is great anyway. “Everyone is dying for this game,” assured the coach: “But what could be nicer? It’s a Friday night game, a derby and an absolutely exciting constellation.”

In the 0: 3 in the first leg in Dortmund and 1: 2 in February at home in the cup, his team “did it really well,” said Letsch: “But neat is not enough. We need a performance that is better than in Dortmund and better than in the cup. It doesn’t take a huge quantum leap, it’s about a few small things. But we hope we’ve learned the right lessons from the two games to be successful this time.”
