FC Schalke is not moving. But even after the third zero number in a row, those responsible remain confident.

Team manager Gerald Asamoah sees FC Schalke 04 on the right track despite their fifth winless game in 2023.

“A lot, a lot is going against us. Nevertheless, we have to look ahead. If you look at the development that the team has taken in the last few games,” said Asamoah after the 0-0 draw against VfL Wolfsburg – Schalke’s third goalless draw in series.

“We really deserved it. We just don’t have the luck,” said the 44-year-old ex-national player. “Three-zero sounds good, but you still have to score up front.”

Schalke, who are still without a win this year, are bottom of the Bundesliga table with twelve points from 20 games. The gap to the non-relegation places is at least seven points after this matchday. Asamoah, meanwhile, continues to believe in staying in the class in view of the playful development of the promoted team. “Now the rule is: keep going, keep going. At some point it will work out,” said Asamoah. “The development is already there. It’s just missing that one ball that goes over the line.”
