Building evacuated after shooting at man who pierced gas pipe

He only grazed the man he was aiming for. By missing his target, this man with a gun probably did not think that he was going to cause the evacuation of an entire building. Friday, November 3, the residents of a small building in Châteaubourg, east of Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine) had to be evacuated after firearms were fired in the lobby of their building. Suspected of being the author of these shots, a 24-year-old man was arrested on Saturday morning “without difficulty”, said the Rennes deputy prosecutor.

An investigation into attempted murder was opened and entrusted to the Vitré research brigade. According to initial information, the suspect shot a 28-year-old man. The prosecution mentions an injury “like a scratch without any seriousness”. The bullet then hit a gas pipe in the building, generating a leak and requiring the intervention of firefighters. Evacuated during the intervention, the residents were able to return to their homes during the night from Friday to Saturday.
