Bugatti Chiron Super Sport: Couple has two one-off models built

A Bugatti Chiron Super Sport costs at least 3.7 million euros – the more individual it is, the more expensive it becomes. The hand-painted “L’Aura” is probably far higher. According to Bugatti, just painting the red luxury racer took several weeks.

The manufacturer writes: “The paint creation process begins with the creation of 2D cutouts that represent the lines flowing across the car, which must be applied and taped to the three-dimensional surfaces of the car with millimeter precision. Every millimeter of the marked lines is then meticulously drawn by Hand painted, layer by layer, with the contrasting color – in this case Arancia Mira, orange.”

The car was ordered by an American woman from Tennessee who, along with her husband, are regular Bugatti customers. Her husband had also treated himself to a Chiron Super Sport, but one off the shelf.

Bugatti driver sends his car back straight away

When he saw his wife’s car slowly taking shape, he decided to add more. His car, now called the “Coup de Foudre” (“Lightning Strike”), was driven by Tennessee was taken to Molsheim, France, and worked there for seven months.

Parts were replaced, the roof panel had to come out and the entire interior had to be removed at one point. When it came to painting, the customer also opted for a similarly elaborate painting, but in blue.

What the entire package cost is unknown. The price of the extensive customization is also not known. But the fact is: several million will have been spent.
