Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) shortened his trip to the climate conference in Dubai by one day. The reason: An appointment had been added to his calendar that was probably no less important for the preservation of the traffic light coalition than the meeting in the Gulf for the global climate. Scholz wanted to talk to the other two top politicians at the traffic light on Sunday, Economics Minister Robert Habeck (Greens) and Finance Minister Christian Lindner (FDP), about the 2024 budget.
