Will Buddy become daddy again after he dies?
This news hits like one of his famous steam hammers. Exactly six years ago, the greatest warhorse in film history died: Bud Spencer († 86, “The Right and Left Hand of the Devil”) fell asleep peacefully in the presence of his family and probably took a big secret with him to the grave.
Because now Carlotta Rossi (46), an Italian TV producer, has filed a lawsuit in Rome. It’s about acknowledging paternity. The Londoner by choice confirmed to BILD: “Bud Spencer was my dad. The courts will now clarify that.”

According to her husband, there are numerous documents, including payments from Spencer (real name Carlo Pedersoli). The relationship with the secret daughter was not bad for many years. The papers were filed through two lawyers at the Rome court last week.
According to Carlotta, it was never an option to go public with the story as long as her mother Giovanna was still alive. Mama died in November 2015. Carlotta wrote down her story for a book – and that confuses the Italian media.

Transfers should prove paternity
Carlotta’s memories of her father begin at the age of three. In the “Corriere della Sera” (Italy’s largest newspaper), the supposed daughter says: “He had arrived at our house with a suitcase that seemed gigantic to me, but was actually quite normal. It was full of toys. I have an image in my mind of a smiling giant, a kind of off-season Santa Claus with a blue jacket and a white suitcase”.

Officially, the great actor and former Olympic swimmer has three children. Diamante (50), Giuseppe (61) and Christine (60). He once said to BILD while eating pasta: “With every day that we get older, the responsibility to be there for those who are smaller than ourselves increases infinitely more.”

Spencer was a loving family man. And even if the public image had no place for the hitherto unknown daughter, the native of Neapolitan still faced up to his financial responsibilities over the years.
Carlotta’s lawyers want to prove in court that Bud took care of his daughter with bank transfers (1,000 euros per month for the mother), which are said to have lasted until 2015. “He also financed my studies and stays in the USA.”
She only found out when she was 13 that Spencer, who traveled a lot around the world because of his filming, had another family. He was married to his wife Maria (87) for 56 years until his death.

When the great Bud Spencer died in 2016, she was not invited to the funeral, says the woman, who is now going public with her story. She still went to the Church of Artists in Rome: when the coffin was carried past her, with music and loud applause, “I was just a spectator,” Carlotta remembers.
A DNA test in comparison with her possible siblings should finally clarify the open question of whether Spencer will officially “become a father” again six years after his death. She holds no grudges against the Pedersoli family: “I think they’re nice people, I wouldn’t mind developing a relationship with them.”
The Spencer relatives have not yet commented on BILD.
