Brunnthal: Organic waste fermentation plant is still standing still – district of Munich

Because it no longer meets the requirements for water protection, the organic waste fermentation plant in Kirchstockach has been idle since the beginning of the year. The revision work brings surprises to light – and the time for recommissioning is slowly running out.

Will the district’s organic waste fermentation plant in the Brunnthal district of Kirchstockach be running again one day? In order to find an answer to this question, a recently prepared expert report on the condition of the plant and the necessary investment requirements should be available to the committee for energy transition, agricultural and environmental issues (ELU) of the district council in September. Up until the end of 2021, the Ganser company processed a total of 30,500 tonnes of organic waste from the district of Munich every year, and operations have been at a standstill since then. The operation had to be stopped because the plant no longer meets the current regulations for groundwater protection.
