Britney Spears takes legal action against her family. Her father faces another court case.

Britney Spears (40) has not been under guardianship since November, but the argument with her family does not end. A heated argument between Britney Spears’ attorney Mathew Rosengart and her father Jamie’s (69) attorney Alex Weingarten reportedly broke out during a court hearing on Wednesday (January 19). Another court date has now been scheduled for the two parties in July.

As reported, among other things, by the “Rolling Stone”., Rosengart accused Jamie Spears of “electronically bugging” his daughter during guardianship. A listening device is said to have been secretly installed in the pop star’s bedroom. Weingarten firmly rejected this accusation.

“Patterns of Misconduct” during guardianship

Britney Spears hired a company to verify her guardianship. On Friday, Mathew Rosengart filed filings summarizing that investigation. A former FBI official said the company had found a “pattern of wrongdoing.” A security officer at Britney Spears, who was classified as “extremely credible”, testified that Jamie Spears was regularly informed that his daughter’s phone calls had been tapped.

Judge Brenda Penny ruled Wednesday that there should be a separate evidentiary hearing. This is scheduled to take place on July 27th. The parties also argued on Wednesday about Britney Spears’ million dollar fortune, which she was not allowed to manage herself during her guardianship. The judge determined according to the “Hollywood Reporter”that the pop star should have full control over his millions of dollars – without any conditions, such as having to create a cash reserve.

The dispute with Jamie Lynn Spears also continues

Jamie Spears isn’t the only one in the family facing the consequences. Britney Spears and her sister Jamie Lynn (30) are currently fighting a public mud fight on social media, in which the lawyers for the two women are now shooting at each other. The stumbling block is the book “Things I Should Have Said” by Jamie Lynn Spears. In it she also reports about her sister – among other things, that Britney is said to have locked herself and her in a room with a knife a few years ago.

Jamie Lynn Spears has since received a cease and desist letter from Britney’s attorney, Mathew Rosengart. It says according to “CNN” among other things, that Jamie Lynn should “refrain” from “making disparaging remarks about Britney” on her press tour for the book. Otherwise, “Britney will be forced to consider and initiate all appropriate legal action.”

Jamie Lynn’s attorney Bryan Freedman is now also shooting back in a letter saying as the celebrity site “TMZ” reportswho that document is available. Freedman writes that Britney Spears’ “intimidating and threatening” social media posts targeting Jamie Lynn “won’t be tolerated.” He also accused Mathew Rosengart of making allegations “although you admit that neither you nor your client have read any part of the book”. The last word does not seem to have been spoken here.
