Basic Fit serial thief can no longer set foot in gyms

He had already been sentenced to eighty hours of community service last summer. A sanction which has obviously changed nothing. On Friday, a 31-year-old man was tried again for multiple thefts committed in Basic Fit gyms in Nancy (Meurthe-et-Moselle) and Metz (Moselle). According to The Republican East, who attended the hearing, the accused allegedly committed 50 thefts with the same methodology. A regular at the Dutch franchise’s sports halls, he is content to search the unlocked lockers and take cash and bank cards whenever he can.

A heavier sentence

As a repeat offender, the accused tried to defend himself, explaining that he suffered from a gambling addiction. Insufficient to convince the judges, who found him guilty of the thefts and gave him a ten-month suspended prison sentence. The defendant is also prohibited from attending sports halls.
