Singer Adele is the big winner at the Brit Awards. Among other things, she received the award for the best album of the year. For the first time there were no gender-specific prize categories at the awards ceremony in London.

British singer Adele has won the top three prizes at the Brit Awards. Her album “30” was awarded best song of the year, her song “Easy On Me” best song. She also won as the best artist of the year.

For the first time, the price categories were advertised by the organizers in a gender-neutral manner. So far, the best male and female artists competed separately.

“I understand why they changed the name of this award, but I really love being a woman, being a female artist,” Adele said at the awards ceremony at London’s O2. In the award for her hit “Easy On Me” she prevailed against 14 other artists. “I can’t believe a piano ballad beat so many bangers,” she said.

The Brit Awards organizers said they had eliminated gender categories to “celebrate artists solely for their music and their work, and not for how they identify themselves or how others see them.”

The musician Ed Sheeran, who was nominated for all the awards that Adele then won, only received the songwriter award, which had already been determined beforehand.
